Great Egret preening.

Right next to Montreal's Technoparc, there's this conservation area called 'Le marais aux hérons' (Heron's marsh). In the summer, this tree covered wetland is visited by all kinds of birds that come there to feed or rest. After spending the morning fishing, this Great Egret took the time for preening itself. As it spreads its wings one after another, the afternoon sun piercing through the dense foliage, lights the white feathers as a fan in counter daylight.
